Day 1, From Stockholm to Zadar:

Arlanda airport, Sweden:

We took the train and bus from where we live in Stockholm to the airport Arlanda as usual and arrived about 3 pm at the airport.

At the airport we changed some money to Kuna that they use in Croatia. Not very much, only to have the first days. It's much cheaper to use the credit card.

Our plane is waiting for us, a Boing 737, it needs to be filled up first.

It's about a 2.5 hours flight down to Zadar from Arlanda:

I listen to music and fell asleep during the flight, suddenly we landed in Zadar.

Zadar airport:

The airport is very small and easy to get through. Out on the street and waiting for the bus, a lot of other people do the same. We felt that something was wrong, looking at the time schedule again, it's valid to October 1st, but today is October 2nd. We walk into the info center and found another time schedule, and it was valid from October 2nd. It says that the bus will arrive at 9 pm, that was what we found when we google on it.

We start talking to the other passengers while we waiting and got two new nice friends, Julia and Amal. We joined company on the bus but went to separate places when we arrived at the bus stop.

Zadar old town is small and very cosy.

Zadar Old Town:

We had booked an apartment in the old town. It's low season now and isn't very difficult or expensive. Only 200 meter from that apartment we found this, a Roman Forum, we will for sure like to stay here !

On top of the forum they have built a new building, a church, new or new, it's a couple of hundred years old. Today it's called the Bell Tower.

Water Organ:

It's late in the night, but we were eager to look at the town and walk along the harbor. At the Northern end of it we found the water organ. The waves compress air into the construction and create sound, so cool.

Close to it is this visible screen built into the ground. It's a model of our solar system and the big one in front of us represent the Sun. During the day it's charged by the sunlight and during the night it's a colorful play on its screen.
