Capoterra:

Breakfast as usual, we found everything we had get used with during our visit at island of Sardinia. Our host came down and talked to us, he about all his houses and we about our round trip at Sardinia.

Lot of tasty things to eat to breakfast.

Not too uncommon they have this kind of fence around the property, it's almost like a fort. The name of this B&B was Gentarrubia B&B.

Nora:

Back to Nora once again to see the ruins after the Romans.

Maybe this is the pier our guide talked about later during the guided tour, you see parts of it under the water.

We sat here waiting for our English guided tour. It was not allowed to enter the archaeological excavations without a guide.

At top of the hill in background you see the first sign of the ruins.

It was in these blocks the Romans lived.

All these ruins have been hidden under the sand before the excavation.

If I remember correct they estimated that 10000 people lived in this city.

Main road down to the harbor, a large part of the city is today underwater due to land movements.

Columns along the street, probably it was along the street at that time where the sellers were.

In the background lies the palace, but it was not ready for visitors yet.

The mosaics was so beautiful, what a lot of small details, and this was made 2000 years ago. When it was excavated it was complete, but sorry to hear from our guide was that stupid tourist have stolen part of the mosaic stones, how could they!

We didn't have time to visit the Spanish tower, but it's almost like the tower we visited two days ago in Tharros.

End of the guided tour, what a fantastic moment we had!

The nearby church of Sant Efisio, for sure the stones come from the ruins we have visited.

These stones could be ruins after the aqueduct, they do not know exactly where the freshwater originated, but they had some guesses.

Cagliari:

It was a nightmare to drive a car in Cagliare, one-way streets and a lot of traffic. We almost gave up and wanted to leave the city, but then suddenly we saw a free parking lot. Here we are just outside the walls of the old city defense.

The south gate, Torre dell Elefante.

As usual on this travel we had nice weather. From this place we had a wonderful view of the city and the sea.

The old city wasn't very big, took us two hours to see what we found interesting. Now we wanted something to eat.

On our way out from Cagliare we drive along this lake, Saline di Quartu. Even if you could not see it here, the small white dots are flamingos, what a surprise!

v

The last beach to visit this day, now we go to this night's B&B.

Our biggest room yet. Next door we had a very nice German, he had previously worked as a military in Sardinia but was now retired. We were invited to a drink and he advised us to visit a very nice beach, the Cala Sinzias, we could visit it on the coming morning trip north.
