My travel in Europe:

One week by car at island of Sardinia, 2017
Oristano to Capoterra, day 5: |
Oristano:On our way out from Oristano we found this great old Roman bridge over Rio Palmas, 30 meters length and 5.9 meters wide. We see a lot more cacti in these areas compared to earlier. In background Oristano's harbor. The roads climbing up to the mountain summit when we passed the mountains that separate the north and south part of island. Sometimes very small roads and we also passed the small streets of some villages. Here we stayed and look over an olive grove. This road SP126 between Guspini and Iglesias is very beautiful with gorgeous landscapes, best we had this day. A stop and a view over the valley, at this road the average speed was only about 30 km/h. The road is far from as wide and straight as we see here. After passing the summit the road climbing down. We head for the small coast village Sant Antioco. Sant Antioco:This is the museum at the island Sant Antioco at the edge of the village with the same name. It was closed and we just look around, after this we go back to the harbor that we just have passed. It's very nice to see that they still have the old wooden boats. We see that some of the boats have fish nets so it's not only for the tourists they are here. |

An open coffee bar, but we bought ice cream instead, it was a hot day.
Ponti Mannu:When leaving the island Sant Antioco we again pass an old bridge, very big and well preserved. We found a parking nearby so we could take a closer look. Ponti Mannu means the big bridge, 120 meters long. This Roman bridge was the most important bridge that join the various small islands with main island and Sant Antioco. After this we had the plan to see another archaeological excavations, this time in the coast village Nora. Nora:We was to late, decided to come back tomorrow. We had booked our B&B just 20 km away. The sunset give great colors in the evening light.

In the nearby village Pula we after some search found an open restaurant. It's not always easy for us to find open restaurants, when we are hungry they sleep, siesta!.
Finally we came to Capoterra, a very big villa waiting for us and it had a big pool.
