Round trip in Andalusia in Spain, Seville, part 2: |
Cordoba:American black coffee, a must for some people to wake up in the morning :-) We almost always travel with the ALSA busses, easy to by tickets in automatic machines and very cheap, Cordoba to Seville about 8 Euros. We have now come to the highlands of Spain on our way to Seville. We was surprised to find the nature so green here. Seville:Seville bus station, we had plan our living to not be too far away from here.
Our apartment in Seville, a big terrace that we enjoyed to sit at in the evening. Main door on upper floor. When we rent apartments there are normally no breakfast included, but there are plenty of restaurants where we could get breakfasts. |

On our way to Plaza de Toros we passed this alley.

Entrance to the bull fighter arena at the Plaza de Toros. We don't like bull fighting but it's interesting to know the history.
Torre del Oro or The Tower of Gold.
The river Guadalquivir, the river at Cordoba had the same name and it flows out in the Atlantic ocean. Canos de Carmona, part of an old Roman Aqueduct.

For a moment we was lost in this alleys on our way back from railway station to our friends. Breakfast time.
Today the Cathedral is open and we go there to visit the tower.

There is no trap step in the tower but instead ramps, probably because they rode by horses up there.

To our surprise we meet a lot of blind people coming down from the tower, what did they see?
When we stood here the bell give us a big and heavy ringing tone, luckily us, just one.
We walk down to the Canal de Alfonso XII, part of the river Guadalquivir. There we found The Tower of Gold, close to here Christopher Columbus sail in after his visit in America and bring a lot of gold with him. This could be the theatre Teatro Lope de Vega.
Puente de Isabel II, Puente de Triana or Triana Bridge.
Most of the modern buildings you see along the river are built for the World Expo 1992 here at Seville.

To the left an Arianne rocket, it sent Spain's first communication satellite to space, the arches is the Pabellon de Futuro. Puento de la Barqueta. Puente del Alamillo.
Another tower as a part of the old wall that protected Seville, not far from the Tower of Gold.
