My travels in Europe:
In Eastern Andalusia, Southern Spain

Andalusia in ten days

  1. Day 1 - 4: Malaga
  2. Day 4 - 6: Almunecar
  3. Day 6 - 6: Maro
  4. Day 6 - 6: Nerja
  5. Day 6 - 8: Granada
  6. Day 8 - 10: Antequera*

Antequera

The last part of our trip was a small village up in the mountain. Why, we have seen they have megalith tombs here!

Antequera

Ou.. we have seen this earlier, upwards! Of course we started with to visit a fortress, the Alcazaba.

Antequera

Still upwards to the entrance! A strange thing we have noticed here in Andalusia, all entrance or on the upper side.

Antequera

It's not hard to understand way they call this the white village.

Antequera

The fortress on the top give us wonderful view over the landscape. Here we stand in the tower with the clock.

Antequera

A view from one of the towers.

Antequera

The Collegiate Church of Santa María la Mayorhe, built in 16th Century.

Antequera

Antequeras old textile fabric.

Antequera

Outside look at fortress wall, outer ring.

Antequera

There walls for defense everywhere and from different epochs.

Antequera

Tapas, micro burger, spicy potatoes, wine. We feel good :-)

Antequera

Hotel Toril, street Toril 3. Our breakefast terrace, but to cold to sit outside.

Antequera

One of two megalith tombs. This has the name Menga.

Antequera

No one are for sure the exact purpose for this big chambers, but tombs are the most used explanation.

Antequera

This well was find inside the tomb, waterstore or what? And how did they do it? Many meters deep.

Antequera

This one is a bit smaller, but still very impressive.

Antequera

This tomb has the name Viera.

Antequera

There was also a third tomb, but not a megalith, it's a Roman tomb. But very far away which we didn't understood. Passing one after one circulation places when we walk along the highway. People we talked to told us that it was nothing to see or didn't no the tomb exists. But we want to see it whatever it was and there we go! Now passing an old waterwheel.

Antequera

Look, there it is!

Antequera

It's a very narrow passage in, don't go in there if your have claustrophobic tendencies! We are happy that we didn't come in the tourist season.

Antequera

All the small stones are so perfect layered up to the roof.

Antequera

Viera tomb.

Antequera

After this long walking we went to the hospital for an ice cream! And then we took the local bus home.

Antequera

On our way home to the hotel we found lot if interesting buildings to look at.

Antequera

The library.

Antequera

The library.

Antequera

Market place.

Antequera

Here old Antequera starts.

Antequera

In middle of the roads they have planted flowers.

Antequera

More tapas and then to bed totally exhausted those two days in Antequera, but what a place!

Summary:
These ten days has been fantastic for us, so many interesting things to see. So little we know when we started and now all experience we have. Nothing went wrong, flights, trains, hotels, busses, weather, people all has been perfect. We really recommend Andalusia for you who hasn't been here.

And how it come that we choose those places to live at? When we Googled on Malaga we found a video on Youtube that show the top places to see. Here is a part of it:

It was many more cities that we want to visit. But we have to limited it to the eastern part, next time we take the western part.
