Andalusia in ten days
AlmunecarThe second part of our trip was to move on to Almunecar. It's also a costal village and we had read of archeological Roman founds. Our balcony at hotel Casablanca, street Plaza San Cristobal 4. The is a Roman fish sauce factory, the whole village was built around this at that time. Fish sauche was very important for the Romans. The smell must be very hard to live with!
The white houses on the hill against the fortress. To the left it had been a Roman theatre, no sign of it today. Castillo de San Miguel. It was too late to visit the fortress this day, but at least we know where the entrance is placed. The alleys in old city. A little bit better than we have in Stockholm! Close to bus station was this old aqueduct with Roman baths. Maybe 2000 years old.

The Tributes Blas Infante arch, not far from the bus central.
Our hotel Casablanca. The east side wall of fortress. A bridge connected the fortress to the island in background.
The beach with palms, does all costal villages has their own beach? An abandoned house, maybe for sale later. The Casablanca hotel. The viewpoint next to our hotel. |
Fishing boat from earlier time. Today we learned that juice are more expensive than vine, 20€ for a breakfast! A steam driven water pump, built in Paris 1883. Old Roman bridge, it was the only one from this period left today. It wasn't easy to find but we are very stubborn people!
My only astrophotography from this Andalusia trip. It's Moon and Venus, if it had been clear sky we also could had seen Mars, Mercury and Jupiter. My empty ice cream cup. Last night before we go for Granada.
