Bus travel in Cappadocia in Turkey, day 4:
Cappadocia, Göreme National parkNow we are waiting here for all other people to come to the bus. Today are we going to the cave city. This is the hotel we live at, Dilek Kaya Hotel. People have lived in cave houses for generations and still do it today, but not here.
Here we are standing on the cliff opposite side and get an overview of the cave city. Lucky charms, sold everywhere we come. Erosion is severe and buildings don't last for long, I think they try to protect them with a plastic layer on top.

Now we are down to the caves. Those who lived here had their ancestors buried in stone coffins in the hall! The entrance is small and we have to wait.

Göreme, Avanos pottery workshopThis tour is subsidized by the Turkish State and then included that we shall visit some local shops and factories. Today it is a pottery workshop.
We was invited to try to make some ceramics by ourselves, here is the teacher that show us how to do.
Very skilled people make lot of beautiful ceramic sculptures and other things. |
This unusual design was wine jars. Painting of ceramic plates. This visit was very interesting for us with all information and to se how they made those complicated ceramics. Göreme National park and PasabagBack to Göreme national park and Pasabag.
Nature has sculptured these fantastic formations. Hard rock above soft rock, wind and water do the rest. |
Isn't the passage a little bit narrow?
We fall a sleep early after this day with all this walk and climbing.
