Bus travel in Cappadocia in Turkey, day 3

1. Day 1: Antalya
2. Day 2: Manavgat, river boat tour
3. Day 3: Cappadocia, Taurus Mountains - Mevlana - Konya - Göreme*
4. Day 4: Cappadocia, Göreme - Ugrup - Avanos - Pasabag
5. Day 5: Cappadocia, Göreme - Kaymakli - Uchisar - Nevsihir - Ortahisar
6. Day 6: Cappadocia, Göreme - Aksaray - Konya
7. Day 7 - 8: Antalya old town - home

Taurus Mountains

Today the bus take us up to the highlands, Cappadocia which is the main target for our Turkey bus tour. We travel in new fine Mercedes buses, Turkey manufacture themself in this region.

To come to Cappadocia we have to pass the Taurus Mountains.

Now we have come all the way up. The height is about 1800 m.a.s.l. A brake was planned here and we could take a walk around.

When you see this you maybe think that we are doing a ski holiday.

Of course the coffee shop had a mini minaret tower on the roof, we are in Turkey now!

A farmer came driving with his tractor. It may not be easy to get something to grow at this chilly altitude.

Mevlana museum

The first stop on the Cappadocia tour was the Mevlana museum, Mevlana is located in Konya.

A dervish man, you must have seem them on TV, the whirling dervishes.

I think part of this Mosque was built in the 14th century.

After this it was time for an another stop. Now in central region of Konya. I did a study on the flowers, harsh environment with little supply of water.

The cats in Turkey was very interested in me, all the time.

After one day travel with lot of interesting things too see we had reached Göreme. A hotel was booked in the small town Ortahisar.

Already now we can see how it will look at tomorrow's tour. The cave houses.

Before dinner was served we took a walk around at the hotel to look at all the beautiful details.
