Torridon

We start our sixth day driving from Kinlochewe and towards the village Torridon.

Torridon

We see a lot of mountains and lakes along this small road.

Torridon

Torridon

Now it's no problem with right side driving, the road just have one lane for both directions. Many people complain of the bad roads up here, but we like them, here we can drive slowly and enjoy the nature. No stress, that's what vacation are for!

Torridon

A lonely small white house. If we understood it correct it has been large forests everywhere in Scotland, nowadays gone but they try to plant it back.

Fearnmore:

Fearnmore

Many people had told us that Applecross is something we must see. We don't exactly understand what it is, a village or a mountain or an island. Anyway, it's very beautiful here.

Fearnmore

After this we turn left and follow the north coast.

Fearnmore

Kalnakill

Maybe we are close to Kalnakill now.

Kalnakill

Kalnakill

A very big sand dyne, we stopped and take a break here to take a closer look.

Applecross

This bay must be Applecross, so what to look for?

Applecross pass Bealach na Ba

Applecross pass Bealach na Ba

After that we couldn't find something very special in Applecross bay we leave the area, but first we must pass the mountain.

Applecross pass Bealach na Ba

This passage was something very exiting to see, maybe that's why everyone talks about Appecross? This road is closed in wintertime.

Applecross pass Bealach na Ba

On the top we find a lot of small stone towers that visitors have built.

Applecross pass Bealach na Ba

Last chance to know where we are! 700 meters above sea level.

Applecross pass Bealach na Ba

We have now passed through Applecross and cross the mountain on a very narrow road. As we follow the valley down to the ocean again, we have a view of the Loch Kishorn and maybe the village Achintraid in the background.

Applecross pass Bealach na Ba

People drive their cars like crazy on this small "bicycle road", in both direction!

We stopped very quickly when we saw this old church ruin. After we stopped we talk to an old women about this church. She told us this church was better than the new one. And we agree, much more beautiful.

Ardnarff

It's an exiting and spooky place!

Stromeferry:

Stromeferry

It must have been a ferry here earlier over to Strome Castle, we want to see that castle but didn't had that much time.

Strome Castle

On the other side we see Strome Castle, maybe not the white house, it should be a ruin.

Isle of Skye, Aird of Sleat

In the evening we took a short drive to Aird of Sleat, we have heard that it's maybe possible to see whales from there.

Isle of Skye, Aird of Sleat

Aird of Sleat

We didn't see any whales but like the drive with a lot of things to look at.

Isle of Skye, Broadford

Back to Broadford bay, here we wait until late night to see the tide to come in, nothing happen and we gave up and go to bed. No one we talked to could say when it occur, they looked little bit strange to us when we asked this.
