7: Maps 2020, comet C/2019 Y4 Atlas

In 2020 there was a big news, a new bright comet was going on, the comet C/2019 Y4 Atlas.

You find more information about the comet here:

Later we got the news that the comet had broken up in small pieces.

You can see here some examples of star charts that I prepared:

Here are two maps with the comets position from April 1, 2020, the time is 10 pm, earlier it isn't very dark. You can print them to bring with you. The location is Sweden.

Or the Black & White version which is better in the dark if you print it out.

Maybe middle of April will be best, but people are already taken photos if it now. Later the comet will be very low to the horizon and it's not dark enough (in Stockholm, Sweden at latitude 60 degrees). Try to find a hill with a clear view to the Northern direction without disturbing lights. Bring warm clothes with you !

My friends photos of the comet:

I got this photo from my neighbour Rolf who already had take a photography of the comet.

Comet C/2019 Y4 Atlas, by Rolf J

It's weak for the moment and Rolf used a big 8" MN 190 telescope and a mono chrome camera setup.

After this we got the information that the comet has broken up in small pieces.
