On the roads near the lake Vättern |
The old village Röttle, part IIWe continue our walk down the river towards the lake Vättern. This is one of the more exiting places with a lot of water flowing down the waterfall. F.D. Snusfabrik och Jaensberg (former Snus factory and Jaensberg's house):There are a lot of stone walls along the steep terrain. We wish we could look back in time and see what was going on here 300 hundred years ago. A lot of waste of energy, it could have been used to energize a couple of houses. But then we wouldn't have this great view. A big part of the water flow is frozen in time. Now we had come almost to the level of the lake Vättern which this river flows out to. One last dam left. Looking back from where we came from. |

Some worker forgot to bring his bucket. A more modern concrete foundation. No one maintenance the river and clear it from fallen trees, but it's beautiful, we like it a lot. Johansberg:Our first glimpse of the lake Vättern. Harbor Röttle:At the end of the river there is a harbor. Magasin (Store):No ships anchor at the harbor to take cargo nowadays, in earlier days it must have been a lot of traffic of steam ships here. I have visit this place later also. Then it was summer, but it didn't give me the feeling I got from this first visit in the winter season. A winch used for something, fisherman thing, or ? More information about Röttle at Wikipedia:

Now we just have to go back to the hotel, you see it above the house's roof. We walked the road back, longer but faster.
