My travel in Europe:

Content:

• Day 1-4: Planning and Rethymnon, Amari, Agia Galini, Kourtaliotiko, Preveli, Lappa

• Day 7-9: Lazy day, Fortezza, archeological museum
• Day 10-12: Chania, beach, Watermills Valley, Roussospiti
• Day 13-15: Margarites, Sfendoni cave, Panormos

Margarites, Sfendoni cave, Panormos

Day 13:

I woke up in the night and found the room lit up, looking out through the window to see a wonderful full Moon shining out there.

We had some early morning talk of what to do these last days. Maybe rent a car and go back to the small village in the mountains, Margarites. We got a good deal and rented a small car during the day.

Margarites:

That was we did, back to the Margarites village, we was a little bit worried if it still was open and its restaurants. We found everything as in high season. Pottery is what the village is famous for and you find them in every house you walk by.

After had looking at all potteries we walk into the allies to have a view over the valley.

Here also olive and pomegranate trees.

In the allies behind there are a lot of not restored buildings, very nice place to walk through.

We have more time left and want to use it for a visit at a cave we read about, Sfendoni Cave.

Sfendoni Cave:

We bought ticket at the office, 4 Euro each for a guided tour.

From the cafe we have a great view over the valley.

Now it's time to enter the cave.

A smartphone isn't the best to use in a dark cave. The guide told us that when during the earthquake there have been some damaged in the caves, but not this one. When they have done excavations in the cave they found remains of people from stone age and some tools. The cave was very beautiful illuminated.

Out on the roads again, stop where we found parking places and enjoy the views. Next stop is planned to be at the North coast village, Panormos.

Panormos:

We found a parking place at the harbor, take a walk around in the village.

It's a small village but very popular.

Shall we stay here and eat or drive home and get rid of the car, we did the latter.

Day 14:

Today is Thursday and then there is a big market at the city park.

Rethymnon market:

Gunilla found honey, a dress and a t-shirt on the market, I found nothing that I had use of.

After the market we walked through the old town and sat down at the cliffs at the harbor.

Slowly walking back to the beach along the beach, something to drink, beer for the girl and orange juice for the healthy boy.

Back to the hotel for a rest and then out again, the last dinner before we go home next day.

Day 15:

Now we must pack our things, we had the room to 12 am. We sat at the balcony and enjoyed the view a last time.

Back to the old town a last time, Gunilla found a cafe with wonderful coffee. After this we walk back to the hotel and got our luggage, go to Manolis place for something to eat before the transfer come and pick us up at 6 pm.

Day 16:

We landed in Stockholm in Sweden after midnight, had some problem to find a bus transport home. It's cold in Sweden ! Why did we go home ?
