Bornholm:Our visit to Bornholm was one of three stays on our cruise at Batlic Sea. One day for us to investigate this nice island and its town. Bornholm is an island that belong to Denmark.
The passage into the harbor looks very narrow for this big ship to pass through.
Lot of traffic in the harbor, most tourists I think. |

An old shipyard.
We follow the path along the harbor, we are on walk to the old city and only city on this small island.
Where the old city starts there is a lighthouse from earlier days. At the big square there is mostly new buildings, we stop for something to eat.
|
The street Tvaerstaede, after we had eaten we walk to the inner parts of the city to find the old houses. The owner of this old wooden house has some work waiting.
Many of the old houses are built of bricks. |
Maria Koefoeds minde, 1812. More to read about Maria Kofoed at Wikipedia:
Street Rolighedsgade, maybe interpreted as fun street ?
|
An old house for sale.
Bornholms Museum, it was closed but you can read about it here:
Outside the museum we find this stone, a bit like our runestones.
In Sweden we have stones that look like this one, it's thought that maybe was used to sharpen the swords. |
Det Lille Hotel. Back to where we had our lunch, this time we get ice creams. Another house for sale. Half-timbered house, built like this to save the timbre, it was cheaper with mud walls between the timber.
|
The street Skindergade.
L. Hjorth Stentöj, mercant house ?
Back to the ferry. Now we go for the German coust city Lubeck, this was the first time I have visited Bornholm. The END
