Hull restoration:

Typical a C. G. Pettersson designed boat is very narrow and long, you can read more about it here at Wikipedia (sorry, only Swedish):

A radical deconstruction down to the Basic substance was certainly the best way to achieve a good result.


Rib restoration:

Helmut tells:
About half of the ribs were broken and had to be repaired, sharpening, breaking out and inserting a new one. Hard work.

Every single rib had to be measured, sawn out and fitted individually.

Then glue and then grind, grind, grind etc.


Stem restoration:

Helmut tells:
Part of the stem had to be replaced. The stem and the keel were partly rotten. Especially the keel in the area of the pipe passage for the propulsion was totally rotten.

Oak wood laminated. The wood was treated with acetone, so that the glue sticks well.

The adjustment was very complex.


Keel restoration:

When I see these photographs I almost not believe it's true. What a huge amount of work that must had been done to replace that keel.

The keel was also replaced to a large extent.

This work was very exhausting.

Clean transitions are very important.

After the keel is finished the keel planks come.
