Car meeting at Trosa 2024

Nice old town and nice old cars to look at

About 65 km South West of Stockholm City is a small city, Trosa. A very beautiful old town located where the Trosa river flows into the Baltic Sea. Car meetings for old classic cars are held here during the summer on Thursdays.

We asked our friend Ivan if he was interested to take a trip in his old Chrysler to Trosa and visit the car meeting. The weather isn't perfect but better to go for this compare to sitting at home. He agree that it's a good idea.

The car consume almost 2 liters per 10 km, so a full tank of petrol is what counts.

Check oil, cooling water and power steering oil. Look at the great engine, a 413 cc (7 liters) big block V8 with twin four-port carburetor, a lot of horse power 60 years ago and even today.

Skanssundet:

Arriving at Skanssundet and waiting for the ferry, it will take us over to the island Mörkö.

After 20 minutes the ferry departs.

Trosa:

We arrived at Trosa about 4 pm, when they open the car meeting. We were the third car here. Ivan's Chrysler 300 is a bit special, it's not a Letter car as they normally call them. It's a Chrysler coupe with the equipment they delivered to the 300 series letter cars. This one has the option engine big block 413 engine with twin four-port carburetor.

Since we arrived at the car meeting very early, we took the opportunity to go for a walk in the old pleasant town. Went into a restaurant and ordered food and ate at a leisurely pace.

When we come back to the car meeting a little over an hour later, several old cars have arrived. The weather is not so good, cold and quite windy, so we don't count on the car park being full.

An early 1980s Camaro and 1970s Pontiac GTO.

A very old Chevrolet, inline six with top valve cylinder head. Chevrolet was very early with this technique.

More cars from the 1950s and 1960s. As it was a little cold, we sat in the car, coffee and cake time.

We didn't expect more cars to come and we didn't want it to be too late in the evening either. We start driving home through the old city.

The Chrysler was originally bought by a dentist in Switzerland. He pointed in the catalog of the car dealer which car he wanted and ordered it. He didn't even have a driver's license but his wife got to drive it.

Crossing the sea with the ferry once again, it departure every 30 minutes.

One hour later and we were home again. Much better feeling now, thanks a lot Ivan for the nice ride !
