2, Control unit:Recently I have noticed that the alarm can go off without a reason when I initiate the alarm, as if a door was open. No problem to use the car but I want to fix this problem. A common problem is that in the trunk it collects water and at that place is the alarm control unit placed. Anti theft control unit:This is the anti theft control unit. The round cylinder is the vacuum / pressure pump the control the door locks. This device is matched to the engine MCU and can't be replaced without reprogramming it. Some of the control wires can be seen on the left side. A thick foam is placed around it to make it quiet. A guess, the white connector is C3 in the schematics and the black is C1, I must check this later. On the other side is the power cables and more control wires. The left connector can be C2, the right one C4 in the schematics, I must check this later. There are three vacuum hoses, lock / unlock the two doors and the trunk lid. With the plastic foam away it looks like this. Here it's common to be a lot of water and that destroy the control unit. In my case this wasn't a problem, fortunately. The anti theft tow sensor to the right, one screw hold it in place, a 10 mm socket. I brushed away the surface rust and spray on some anti rust protection coat. At the arrow is where the water is supposed to run out, check that it isn't blocked. Anti tow theft sensor:When it wasn't a water drain problem I look at the next device I suspect cause the alarm go off, the Anti tow theft sensor. I loose it to take a look inside it if there is some sign of failure. It's connected to the wiring by this socket. I use a screwdriver to unlock it from the socket. The bracket around it is also lock to the enclosure. Take it easy to not broke something, expensive sensor. Now I also tested the alarm when the cable is detached, still the alarm goes off. But maybe because off the the cable isn't attached. Take it indoors for a closer examine, here is the part number: A 193 820 01 26. Note the "UP" mark, this side must point upwards to work. To open the box, unlock the plastic hooks. Two more lock mechanism on the sides. Inside the tow sensor, no mechanical device, fully electronic. But it looks okay, no water or corrosion problems. Installed it back again. There are no new devices to buy what I know, a used one can cost 50 Euro. |
