Day 15, The last day, back to Sweden: |
Waking up this last day is a bit sad. We have liked our 15 days down here a lot. And now we must leave it. Rijeka:A last look out through the window, these old buildings that needs to take care about. But we like it, this is how old buildings look like. Our breakfast table, all the well tasted toasts we had eaten here. The kitchen, dish washer and washing machine. Out in the stair hall, a window to another apartment or what purpose of it other than it looks great ? We check out at ten o'clock. Go to the harbor where it's a nice cafe that we have found earlier. Here in the morning Sun we sat more than an hour. A lot of people came here and eat breakfast. In two hours and we must get on the bus. For safety we take not the last bus but the one before. Slowly walking the streets to the airport bus terminal. |

Get on the bus, pay the tickets in cash. Rijeka Airport:One hour drive and we are at the airport. Take our suitcases and walk into the airport hall. Bought toasts and something to drink and waiting. After a while we got the message that there was a delay of one hour. When we arrived with the bus we saw that there was an airplane out on the grass. I take a walk to it and look closer what it is. Strange, it's rusty, isn't all fighters built of aluminum ? Air intake for the jet engine. When walking around the airplane I found some holes in the hull, bullet holes, or ? At the ends of the wings are these, I think they once hold instruments. A sign tells what aircraft it is, a F-84 Thunderjet. It's American made and it's first flight was 1946. It was in operation in Yugoslavia until 1974. More information about F-84 Thunderjet:
At last the airplane came, it come direct from Stockholm and just do a turn around here. When we see the airplane Gunilla got very quiet, with low voice she said: It's a Boeing 737 Max 8, you know the one that drops down sometimes. Gunilla has looked at all documentaries about flight crashes that are available and know exactly what it is. But who worries, it has been certified for more than one year now after they fixed it.
