My travels in Sweden:

Roslagsrundan, 2019:Our friend Gunnar asked us if we wanted to follow him on the trip Roslagsrundan. Reading about it and we found it very interesting and we joined him. This was six years ago and now I try to write the story down, not easy. Östra station:![]() It starts in the North of Stockholm city at the train station Östra Station. Here is the entrence hall and Gunilla admire the roof. ![]() What a roof, up there are restaurants. ![]() This is the thing with this, travel with old things. The train waiting for us. ![]() Gunilla talks to the train driver. He told us that this train was built 1914. ![]() No plastic here, all wood and steel. ![]() The interior is fantastic. ![]() The old train lines, from Stockholm and North. ![]() This train line opened 1895 and in that time its name was Djursholmbanan. ![]() Time to departe. ![]() The sofas are beautiful and actually quite comfortable even though they don't have any soft padding to sit on. ![]()

Lindholmen:![]() First stop, we had to waiting here until the track is clear from other trains. ![]() Study the chassi, leaf springs make the ride comfortable. ![]() Only for us. ![]() So much more nice with wood, but to take care of it takes a lot of work. ![]() Speed regulation and some more strange things. ![]() Voltage, ampere and speed to take care of when driving the train. ![]() After this train the track is clear and we can proceed. |

![]() Next stop is at the station Lindholmen. Here we change from train to an old bus. ![]() This bus is made from Volvo, maybe from the 1960s and converted from left road side driving to right, we did that change 1967 in Sweden. ![]() When I was a young boy I traveled by buses like this one. Wira Bruk:![]() Wira bruk was an old weapon factory in Sweden, big and important. ![]() We leave the bus for an break and to have a look at this beautiful place. ![]()

![]() After we left the bus we walked down to the harbor. We will continue from here back to Stockholm city with a steam ship. |

![]() Here it come, it's S/S Blidösund, the Jazz boat. ![]()
![]() Walking around and investigating the ship, I found the bar here. ![]() And the engine room here, a two cylinder steam machine. Even after 100 years of use it works. ![]() From Furusund there are ferries to the islands Yxlan and Blidö. ![]() Three happy travelers. ![]() We go North and then South in between the islands Yxlan and Blidö on our way home. Vaxholm:![]() After one and a half hour travel from Furusund we have come to Vaxholm. One of the bigger places to stop at. Plenty of restaurants and other needed things. ![]() The majestic Vaxholm Kastell, first part built already 1548. More information about Vaxholm Kastell:
