2: Wiper arm's compartmentIf you have removed the cover panel under the wiper arms it's a good idea to clean the space under, how to remove the cover. Here are drainage outlets that must be clean, if they are blocked by dirt the water takes another way. Often inside the car and your fine car get rusty ! When doing this you must disconnect the battery. If the wiper motor start by mistake it can cut your fingers or worse ! ![]() I find it difficult to work here because the hood did only open in a narrow angle. The original gas damper had a release that make it open almost full vertical. In my case I have to loose the gas damper. ![]() A wooden beam hold the hood straight up. Be carefully that it don't fall down ! ![]() Use the vacuum cleaner to remove all dirt here. ![]() Right, passenger side, the drainage is fully blocked, not good, a seventeen years collection of dirt. I'm very glad now that I opened the cover panel. Are there already rust holes under this ? ![]() Another drainage, this one lead the water to the above drainage. Not that much dirt here. ![]() After I had clean it, what a difference ! ![]() Left, driver side. Also this drainage is fully blocked. ![]() After the vacuum cleaner has done its job the water now have a free passage out. After this I clean all surfaces and waxed them to better protect them from rust.
