Chrysler Crossfire
Interior

This is one information page of my collection of what I have repaired on my Crossfire.

Note:
You should not do any repair on your car if you don't have enough experience and knowledge! You use this information at your own risk! Don't blame me if something goes wrong.

Content:

Chrysler Crossfire share some of its interior parts with Mercedes SLK R170 and maybe other Mercedes C and E class, year from 1997 to 2004.

Have your hands and finger clean, otherwise you will have a lot of dirty finger prints all over the interior. A fresh and working interior makes your car look much better.

4, Door panel net pocket:

Chrysler Crossfire: Door panel net pocket

Both doors has a net pocket where you can store things. It's a net that is hold in place by an elastic string. After some years the elasticity of the string is gone and it looks like this. Maybe I can replace the upper string with a shoestring, if I find one with small blue dots it will look nice.

When taking away the door panel you must be very careful. One thing is to not blow the door airbag. If you disconnect the cables to it it will produce an error code and light up the error lamp on the dash panel. It must be reset by a workshop.

The other thing is that the panels holds in place by a lot of plastic pins and brackets. Very fragile and easy to break. Something I must learn how to do before I proceed.

Here are two instructions I found:

I bought a pair of 100 cm shoe strings. They are a bit elastic and have some dots on it, not blue but white.

Until I have found out how to remove the door panels without destroying anything I found this dirty solution:

I can't visit car meetings with the door panels looking like this. I decided to try the dirty solution I found as a temporary solution. Looking for what tools I have for this repair and found this.

First I stretch the string and set a clamp on it to hold the string together.

With needle and thread I got it together. I had to shorten the string 10 cm.

With the string stretched the net looks much better.

Over to the passenger side and do the same operation.

Even the passenger side looking good now.
