Chrysler Crossfire
RCM, Relay Control Module

This is one information page of my collection of what I have repaired on my Crossfire.

Note:
You should not do any repair on your car if you don't have enough experience and knowledge! You use this information at your own risk! Don't blame me if something goes wrong.

Content:

If you have a Mercedes SLK R170 with a 320 engine it's almost exact the same.

Note:
You have to work with the electric parts when removing the RCM module. Disconnect the battery, the negative terminal ! When disconnecting the battery the alarm and radio will be reset, be sure to have any codes that's needed!

Next thing is to open the RCM enclosure. There are six hooks / tabs around the opening.

There is a circuit board inside here that easily can be destroyed. I used three plastic card to separate the hooks. You don't need much force to do this.

This is the circuit board with the normally bad soldering. But before checking this I check the other devices on this board.

Control the connectors for any corrode problems.

The fuses contacts can maybe be corroded, I loosen them and look for that and also check that the fuses are ok.

Check that the five relays are ok.

Gentle pull on the contact to inspect it, it shall be no burned surfaces on it. Do it on all five relays.
