Chrysler Crossfire
Front Disc Brake replacement

This is one information page of my collection of what I have repaired on my Crossfire.

Note:
You should not do any repair on your car if you don't have enough experience and knowledge! You use this information at your own risk! Don't blame me if something goes wrong.

Content:

I believe this information must also be useful to most Mercedes C, CLK and SLK manufactured from year 1997 to maybe 2004. And if you have a Mercedes SLK R170 with a 320 engine the chassis are almost identical.

Note:
These are the car's brakes, very important everything is done correct. You should not do any repair on your car if you don't have enough experience and knowledge!

3, Removing the brake caliper holder arm:

To remove the disc brake (disc rotator) you need to loosen the support arm for it.

On top in the image below you see the brake caliper hanging in a steel wire. There is one electric cable and one hydraulic hose, don't stretch and break them!

The arm is mounted with two bolts. It's these two bolts that hold the whole car when you brakes the car and they need to be very hard tightened. Now when we are loosen these bolts there are not without problem. I took the longest tools that I had, the nuts dimension is 18 mm.

Here how it looks when dismantled, of course I should have painted it now, but very stressed now with Christmas and other things to do.
