1, Balance shaft adapter:

Introduction:

With my low weight telescope I need some smaller balance weights. It's not always so easy to find weights with lower weights than 5 kg. I will use my training weights, but they don't fit the balance bar on the telescope's mount. I have designed an adapter that reduce the hole from 26 mm to 19 mm that fit my EQ6/HEQ5 mounts.

The bar and nut adapter parts:

The thread is M27x2, fine thread. It's space for three balance weights of smaller sizes. It can be a challenge to make 3D-printed threads to fit, needs some after work, sand paper !

See also my project page: Nikon D800 and Pentax 645 300 mm f/4 ED.

Changed some small on the threads on the latest design, this one isn't test printed yet. Let med know if there is any problem: Contact. This is version 1.06 in early stage, it can be downloaded as a STL file from 3D page. The threads will fit much better if the 3D-printer is calibrated.
