Chrysler Crossfire
Front Disc Brake replacement

This is one information page of my collection of what I have repaired on my Crossfire.

Note:
You should not do any repair on your car if you don't have enough experience and knowledge! You use this information at your own risk! Don't blame me if something goes wrong.

Content:

I believe this information must also be useful to most Mercedes C, CLK and SLK manufactured from year 1997 to maybe 2004. And if you have a Mercedes SLK R170 with a 320 engine the chassis are almost identical.

Note:
These are the car's brakes, very important everything is done correct. You should not do any repair on your car if you don't have enough experience and knowledge!

2, Loosen the roller bearing cap and distance plate:

These two steps you maybe don't have to do, it's only if you have the same problem as I do.

Above the outer roller bearing there is a dust protective cap that must be removed sometimes, at least in my case because I have a leakage here and must sealed it in someway. I used a big screwdriver with a support against the distance plate. Then bend the cup off.

I have after market wheels on the car, they need a distance plate to fit correctly. I have to remove that one too. I took a knife and knocking it down the joint between the distance and hub gently with a small hammer. Just a small step and then rotate the disc and once again, several times.
