Corvette 1969 C3:My friend still own his Corvette, it's a classic 1969 C3 cab. More than 50 years old now and needs some attention. Non functional heater system and some problem with the rear axle. It's always interesting to following what he is doing with his car. I have written down some parts with photos of it here. Chevrolet Corvette C3 1969 cab. With its yellow paint and chrome bumbers it looks a lot more aggressive than my Corvette. This model is from the classic years, 1968 to 1972.
Corvette 1969 C3, heater system:The heater system for the coupe is located on the right side of the engine compartment. It's a plastic shield that cover the heater element, the black one down here. The blower sits on the same cover, to the left here. A lot of nuts hold the plastic cover in place, some of them that can be tricky to reach. This car has a small block V8 and no A/C which make it a lot easier. The new heater element, it's easy to get spare parts to old Corvettes. Because Corvettes are popular most of the spare parts are still produced even today. It was empty behind the cover. The car has been driven in Florida and no need for a heater system. Now when in Sweden it's urgent. The body of Corvettes are made of fiber glass, but there are some parts in steel too, this is the ventilation chamber. It could be rust here and need some paint. The the new heater element should be installed here, but first check that it fit. The heater element fitted and now it's time to install the hoses that come from the engine and a control valve. Some anti oxidation spray on the blower's electric connector. Fire up the engine and let it heat up. Start the heater and yes, it's coming hot air from the outlets now. Everything works. Good, now the car can be used at early spring and late autumn too.
